Massive field of rose-shaped corals
*Special Edited Sequence* Scientists have discovered a rare, pristine coral reef below 100 feet (30m) off the coast of Tahiti. The rose-shaped corals seem to be entirely untouched by the climate crisis. This is exclusive footage from massive colonies of the rose-shaped coral, at a depth of 145 feet (44m), filmed recently off the Tuamotus in French Polynesia. Coral reefs are beacons of biodiversity that house over a quarter of all marine species and provide food and livelihoods to more than half a billion people worldwide.
