Banded Snake Eel hunting deep on rocky slope

By taking on the appearance of an entirely different animal, the Banded Snake Eel doesn’t wait for the safety of darkness to venture out. It moves through sandy bottoms and forages on rocky slopes in broad daylight, and as an almost exact match to the banded sea krait, it relies on mistaken identity as its sole means of defense.
